When a close friend is murdered by the underworld, Jim Logan, a lieutenant in New York's Finest, sets out to find the men responsible. He follows a bloody trail of clues until at last he finds the finger man, Harlan Phillips, the leader of a gang of warehouse thieves who is also an eminent Gothamite. Learning that Logan is onto him, Phillips and his gunmen set a trap for him; Logan learns of the trap and, by a smart stratagem, lures Phillips into his own trap, where he is brutally shot. The case closed, Logan helps two young dancers in Phillips' underworld cafe find a new life ...
