SYNOPSIS

At the end of World War I, friends Dave Stewart and Burr Winton return to Burr’s log cabin in the Canadian Northwest. One day, during a heavy snowstorm, smuggler Jacques Fachard and his daughter Manette seek refuge in the cabin after Jacques has been badly wounded while escaping the North West Mounted Police. Before Jacques dies, Dave and Buck agree to his request that they look after Manette. Although they have been the closest of friends, the two men soon become jealous and angry over each other’s attentions to the pretty Manette. One night, when Burr discovers that Dave has tried to enter Manette’s bedroom, the two men have a brutal fight. Later, as the blizzard continues and their rations run short, Burr decides to brave the storm and go for supplies. Manette, who has grown to love Burr, determines to go after him. Now realizing that Burr and Manette love each other, Dave stops her and rescues Burr himself. When the storm clears, Dave leaves the cabin so that Burr and Manette may find happiness ... +
