After resting at the gates of the estate of J. P. Morton, the world's greatest financier, Felix and Tarnow are hired as extra servants for a house party. Felix falls in love with Morton's daughter Marcia, and when the Nordland ambassador recognizes him, Felix convinces the ambassador to introduce him as a count. When Janzi, an assassin hired by Stepan, sends Morton a wire calling Felix a fraud, Felix is ordered out. After Janzi and his band attack Felix, Marcia saves him and nurses him, but when they plan to elope, Felix's identity is revealed. Marcia knows that she cannot marry royalty and gives Felix up.
