After instructing Pringle to approach the elder Platt and purchase more Free Booter stock, Jonathan salts the mine with ore, stages a fake explosion, and a rich deposit is discovered. Preston's father and his business rival rush to buy a controlling interest in the mine and, as a result, Pringle makes a handsome profit on his shares. Preston then reveals that the strike is a fake, but having made good on his boast, is reinstated into the good graces of his ... +
