The film opened in San Francisco 16 Jun 1918 and played on the Pacific Coast in June and July. It contained color scenes filmed in California locations, including Mount Tamalpais, Lake Lagunitas, Yosemite and Yellowstone. Leon F. Douglass was one of the patentees of the Victor talking machine. His film company was located in San Rafael, CA, and made short films in color in addition to this feature. According to modern sources, Douglass' color process alternated red and green dyed frames.
