SYNOPSIS

Betty Standish, a small town girl who inherits a fortune, fulfills her ambition of living in the big city when she rents the bachelor apartment of the vacationing Jerome Kent from his valet Greggs, who poses as Jerome. When Jerome returns unexpectedly, Betty, thinking that he is a burglar, holds him off with a revolver. Attracted to Jerome, Betty offers him a job as her chauffeur to reform him, which Jerome, who is attracted to Betty, accepts. After "Tuxedo Frank" Beresford steals a necklace in a theater lobby, it is then stolen by Jimmy the Newsboy, a street urchin who, injured, is driven by Betty and Jerome to a hospital. When Jerome finds the necklace, Betty, thinking that he stole it, puts it in her safe. After Betty discovers Jerome's real identity, she makes him wait tables at a dinner she gives, where Frank, as a guest, breaks into her safe.
