SYNOPSIS

On board an ocean liner, dressmaker's model Winifred Childs begins a romance with Peter Rolls, the heir to a fortune. Peter's sister Ena, however, wants him to marry into a "good" family, so she tells Winifred that her brother is merely flirting. Discouraged, Winifred avoids Peter, and then, after the cruise, she loses her modeling job and finds work in a department store. Soon thereafter, Meigenson, the store superintendent, invites Winifred to his apartment, where he tries to seduce her. Meanwhile, Peter has been trying to find Winifred, and finally traces her to Meigenson's. To get away from the superintendent, Helen has locked herself in a room, enabling Meigenson to deny to Peter that she is in the apartment, but Peter sees a piece of Winifred's dress, which Meigenson tore off. Peter then saves Winifred from the superintendent, tells her that he loves her, and, to prove it, marries ... +
