SYNOPSIS

Deformed and aged, powerful Italian financier David Angelo is called to Naples on business where, during an eruption of Vesuvius, he is covered with burning lava. Rescued by a brilliant scientist, David emerges as a new man, with every trace of his physical deformity removed. He returns home, unrecognized by his friends and family, to discover that his own home is being used by plotters against Italy and that his wife Clara is being enmeshed in international conspiracies by her mother, Mme.
