Press agent "Inky" Ames, in a quandary to publicize showgirl Anitra St. Clair, convinces her to paint a birthmark on her shoulder and pose as millionaire mine owner Theodore True's long-lost daughter. The impersonation works, and Anitra accompanies True to inspect a Western mine. Bud Haskell, True's Western representative and schoolmaster to a gypsy tribe, introduces the beautiful gypsy Romany, who ran away to escape marrying the chief's son Zinga, to True, who takes Romany back East with them. When Anitra begins cavorting with True's willing nephew Hobart, Inky confesses the ruse to True. Meanwhile, Romany, back from boarding school, happily receives Bud at her first party. After Romany catches Hobart robbing his uncle's strong box, Zinga tracks her down and she leaves True's home. Romany is suspected of the theft, but after True turns Anitra out, Hobart confesses. Zinga lures Romany aboard a ship, but Bud arrives to rescue her after fighting Zinga, who reveals that Romany really is True's daughter. Romany and Bud now plan to ... +
