SYNOPSIS

Though wooed by a wealthy shipowner, Angela Gaskell is attracted to Somers, a drunken first mate who rescued her father in a shipwreck. To repay him, the Gaskells mortgage their property and thus obtain funds for the bond necessary for Somers to captain a ship of his own. When money is stolen from the ship and Somers disappears, Angela rejects her suitor, Marvin, and goes to the South Seas in search of Somers, her true love.
