SYNOPSIS

Nora Fay is persuaded to marry the son of a well-known man in order to embarrass the latter because of her belief that he sent her father to prison. But the bridegroom turns out to be Joel Morgan, only a friend of the intended one. The "Scarab" and his gang are so angry at the failure of their plan that they beat Joel and dump him by the side of a road. Nora finds him and nurses him to health, but circumstances separate them. Years later, when her father, Peter Fay, is freed, The Scarab persuades him to rob one more safe. When Nora intervenes, it is revealed that The Scarab had caused Peter's imprisonment.
