SYNOPSIS

To oblige their parents, Stephanie Maynard and Derrick Van Beekman agree to marry, even though Stephanie loves George Harnash. On their wedding eve, George has Derrick shanghaied on a boat bound for the South Seas. The crew drops Derrick on an island inhabited by a tribe that Derrick discovers is descended from Dutch explorers shipwrecked there centuries earlier. He and the chief's granddaughter Truda fall in love, but when the rescue party Stephanie has commissioned arrives, Truda, assuming that Derrick loves Stephanie, plans to kill herself.
