SYNOPSIS

Adele Dorey, a Broadway dancing star exhausted from strenuous work, leaves New York without revealing her destination to anyone; her maid, Jane, accompanies her to a country village for a rest. The Gay Girlies Burlesque Co. arrives in the village on a barnstorming tour, creating excitement among the yokels; Bobby Lewis, the company's manager, offers a local girl a place in the show, bringing out a flock of country girls; but he sees in Adele his only possibility. Amused, she pretends to be impressed and introduces Jane as her mother; later, Jane informs Larry, Adele's own manager, of her situation and whereabouts. Adele gets Bobby a Broadway job, but he denounces her, learning of the deception. Through Larry's arrangement the couple are reunited and realize their mutual ... +
