SYNOPSIS

Ellen Neal, after being arrested in a nightclub raid, follows the advice of the judge and determines to start a new life. She obtains a position as maid in the Fullerton home, where everyone from the butler to young Hugh Fullerton tries to engage her attentions; her affair with Hugh culminates in due course when their child is born. When Ellen refuses to accept a monetary settlement from the socially elite family, they investigate her past: it develops that she is herself illegitimate and that her mother had committed suicide to prevent the father's disgrace; but later her father is revealed to be none other than Fullerton's lawyer. Finally Hugh changes his judgment of her, and they are ... +
