SYNOPSIS

Neglected by her busy husband, Elsie Maury falls in love with Don Arturo, a Spanish nobleman, and allows herself to be taken to his home outside Paris. A guilty conscience forces her to write a letter to her husband, but Arturo reads it and attempts to prevent its being mailed. Elsie is about to yield to him when a peasant, whose daughter Don Arturo has betrayed, kills him. Elsie flees, returns to her husband, and awaits the arrival of the letter.
