SYNOPSIS

When Hugh Coleman loses Irene Lansing to his best friend, Gerard Merriam, he consoles himself by secretly marrying Minna Hart, the daughter of a wealthy Jewish banker who has lent him money on a personal note. Learning that Hart would not consent to his daughter's marrying a gentile, Coleman swears an oath that they will part and will never reveal their marriage. When Hart is slain and robbed, Hugh is tried for the crime, but Irene's testimony that she was with him at the time brings an acquittal. After explanations the two couples are ...
