SYNOPSIS

Bachelor Steve Porter, who is the center of a hectic night life, is fascinated by the silhouette of a girl across the courtyard. His guardian-trustee, Uncle Howard, hearing of Steve's parties, refuses to give him more money until he is married. Steve's friend, Maurice, a theatrical producer, proposes that they hire a girl to pose as Porter's wife, and Sally Lane is signed to play this part. The three men soon discover Sally's delightful personality, and Steve's interest grows stronger; Uncle Howard's suspicions are aroused, however, and he moves in with them. Sally soon grows tired of the charade and does not believe Steve's pleas of love.
