SYNOPSIS

Nora McShane, resident of a tenement quarter known as Fish Alley, enters the grounds of the nearby home of the wealthy Vanderfleets and there meets Beatrice, the daughter of the house. Discovering that they look very much alike, Beatrice suggests that they exchange identities for a short while. Beatrice is later taken captive and held for ransom by Nora's drunken father. Meanwhile, Nora meets Reginald, Beatrice's admirer, and tells him the story; then Reggie and Mr. Vanderfleet go to the rescue of Beatrice, McShane is jailed, and Nora is adopted by the ... +
