SYNOPSIS

On Sally's slender but capable shoulders fate has placed the burden of caring for her brother, Beau (a wastrel and gambler), her sister, Millie (a flip-witted flapper), and her aged aunt. The banker for whom Beau works informs Sally that the boy has been embezzling, and Sally is forced to go to work for Hugh Davidson, a gambler who advances her enough money to repay the banker. Hugh's nightclub is raided by the police, and Sally puts herself in a compromising position in order to protect Millie's reputation. Millie, however, is overcome by remorse and confesses her indiscretion, thereby taking the first, tentative steps on the road to responsibility.
