SYNOPSIS

Ann unknowingly goes through a bogus marriage ceremony with Joe, a thief, and she is held as an accomplice to his crimes by the police. On her way to the prison, there is a train wreck, and when Ann is rescued she is mistaken for Dorothy Brooks, a prison matron, who was the wife of Robert Brooks. She is taken to the home of Robert's mother; charmed by Ann, he begs her to continue to pose as his wife at least until she is well. Joe, who has escaped from the police, plots with his friend, Pete, to get her back and to steal the Brooks jewels. Ann is abducted, and when she realizes that Robert is following them, she causes the car to plunge over a cliff.
