SYNOPSIS

Sheila, a happy and carefree colleen, loves Emmett, a shiftless Irish lad who goes to America to seek his fortune. While Sheila and her father are en route to join him, her father gives the steward her shamrock in payment for liquor, and she becomes wildly apprehensive. Learning Emmett has lost his job, Sheila is forced to work in a beanery, where she meets Rory, a poor American boy, who is attracted to her. Sheila is bitterly disappointed, however, when Emmett takes up with Clarice, a flashy flapper; she confides her troubles to Rory, who is currently employed as a section hand in a shipyard. When she is jilted by Emmett, missiles of food and crockery send the wedding party flying into the street. Rory finds the lost shamrock and looks forward to happiness with the triumphant ... +
