Trans-American FilmsAthlete Mike Samson is dismayed to overhear young Delilah Dawes refer to him as a braggart. Determined to win her approval, he decides to live a dual life by posing as Herbert Samson, Mike's shy and bespectacled brother. The deception succeeds, for Delilah responds romantically to "Herbert"'s manner and polite behavior. But the situation becomes complicated when Delilah challenges Mike to participate in a series of beach sporting events. Forced to compete, Mike wins all of the contests except the last, which he allows Delilah to win. When Delilah inevitably learns of his double life, she at first refuses to listen to an explanation. But, influenced by the fact that she was allowed to win the final sporting event and convinced that Mike shows signs of improving, she changes her mind and resumes her romance with Mike/Herbert ...
