The 28 Mar 1963 DV indicated that casting was underway, and referred to the film by its working title, Six Days in Hell. A news item in the 2 Apr 1963 DV reported that filming would take place in Puerto Rico, where Associated Producers, Inc. chief Robert L. Lippert planned to simultaneously film Harbor Lights (1963, see entry), with many of the same crewmembers imported from Hollywood. The budget for both pictures was under $200,000, as noted in the 3 May 1963 DV.
       Filming locations included the fishing village of La Parguera, Puerto Rico. While the 17 Apr 1963 Var cited a twelve-day shooting schedule, the 3 May 1963 DV claimed that production lasted only eleven days. ...

SYNOPSIS

American Billy Poole, a professional killer, is hired by a nationalist group to assassinate exiled South American dictator Antonio Perez, who lives on a heavily guarded island in the Caribbean. Billy and his contact, Anita Chavez, force former advertising man Vincent Dodge, who regularly sails supplies to Perez, to transport Billy to the island by holding Vincent's wife, Helen, as hostage. Once on the island, Billy can only wound Perez before escaping, with both the dictator's guards and Vincent in pursuit. Billy later murders Anita in the belief that she has betrayed him but is himself killed by Vincent. Helen, free from her captors, rejoins her ...
