Smalltown boy Peter Jones, a clerk in his grandmother's Chillicothe, Ohio, hotel, fulfills his lifelong ambition to become a Broadway producer when shady producer Jack McLure sells him a play that is sure to fail. Jones falls in love with Mary Martin, his leading lady, and the play has a sellout run in New York. Successful and satisfied, Jones sells the production back to McLure and returns to Chillicothe with ...
