Hugh Drummond goes broke from living too high on the hog and turns to the life of crime in order to make a living. On his first holdup, he meets Sue Arnold, an unemployed cabaret dancer, and gallantly escorts her to his apartment rather than robbing her wealthy escort. They become dancing partners in a cafe, and Sue, who falls in love with Hugh, later comes to believe that he has again returned to the life of crime. Hugh clears himself, however, and he and Sue make plans to waltz through life together.
