HISTORY

Actress Blanche Frederici recreated her role from the Broadway production of the play. The Cat Creeps was the final feature film directed by Rupert Julian (1879-1943). Universal also produced a Spanish-language version of the film, La voluntad del muerto, shot simultaneously with The Cat Creeps. La voluntad del muerto was directed by George Melford and starred Antonio Moreno and Lupita Tovar (See Entry).

SYNOPSIS

After the death of a wealthy eccentric, his relatives are summoned for the reading of his will at a mysterious house that has been abandoned for twenty years. The will, which is read at the stroke of midnight, reveals that all of the relatives have been disinherited, except for Annabel West.
