According to the 29 Jul 1981 Var, director Henry Jaglom announced his next project would be small and independently produced by his company, International Rainbow-Arc-en-Ciel-Keshet Productions. Referring to the picture by its working title, At Home, the news item reported a $1.5 million budget. However, according to the 28 Aug 1985 HR, the picture was made for $500,000.
Actors Barbara Flud and Orson Welles were announced to appear in Always, but neither are credited onscreen. However, the two actors starred in later Jaglom films.
The 12 Nov 1984 DV reported that filming was complete on the newly titled Always: A Film About Love, Marriage, and Divorce.
The video was released as, Always…But Not Forever. ...
