When Tim, the wastrel son of a corporate executive, is arrested for speeding during a drag race with Dave Jordan, his father tells him that he will no longer support him. Later, Tim accepts a dare from Dave to join the fire department headed by his father, and the two attend training school together. They are soon assigned to a fire department in a large eastern city, where they are called on to rescue a young secretary named Judy. Dave and Tim both fall in love with Judy and vie for her attentions. Tim gets Judy a job with his father's company, but she is soon framed for the theft of the company payroll. When Tim and Dave learn that Judy has been abducted by the true thieves, they follow the trail she has left and find her being held in captivity in a burning building. After Tim and Dave save Judy and put out the fire, Dave relinquishes his love for Judy and Tim makes preparations for marriage.
